I need to re-watch his 60 minutes interview.
IIRC he talked about what a brutal hard taskmaster his dad was, making them practice relentlessly all day every day until everything the Jackson 5 did was perfect. They didn't really have a childhood because of it.
But then the interviewer asked him if he hated or resented his father for doing that, and MJ answered no..
if his dad hadn't drilled that perfectionism into him, he wouldn't have had any of his success.
That's why I've never really had much time for the pedo allegations TBH. His version of it just makes sense to me. He made stupid money, and his autistic idea of doing something worthwhile with that money was creating a giant fantasy play house, where children could just run free and be crazy and not feel any pressure or expectations for a while.
But because humans are shit creatures, somebody assumed that sexual perversion is the only thing that explains all of that, and some other people saw an opportunity to rape him for some money.
