Did anyone else research incels, love-shyness, and the blackpill before Elliot Rodger?

I personally recall doing Google searches and reading Wikipedia pages on this stuff going all the way back to 2012, when the terms were generally quite obscure and unheard of. And I was only 14 years old at the time, so, even back then I pretty much knew that it was over for me. I don't think inceldom is something the average 14 year old spends hours in their room on the computer extensively researching.

I'm curious; does anyone here specifically remember that Wikipedia used to have articles on Love-shyness and Incels, and they ended up deleting them sometime in 2014? I have no idea why they were deleted. They were articles that I read, from top-to-bottom, and related to so much. Thankfully they were both archived:

I used to be a frequent poster on socialanxietyforums before I found r9k and this site.

I read the book on LoveShyness by Gilmartin before ER.

Oh wow. Yes, Brian Gilmartin was one of the first people to extensively study love-shyness, I believe. Did you just read it online, or do you physically own a copy of it? I'd love to own a physical copy of it, it's like a relic to Inceldom.

Just online. It's pretty legit if you ignore the astrology and "ban football" stuff. I was slow to warm up in pools, liked melodic music, and dreamed of an ethereal beauty.

Interesting. I'll have to read the book for myself sometime. I just found a pdf online and I'm just skimming through it now. Might as well read the whole thing, I have nothing better to do...
