Saiyan, Namek and Cell arcs we're great. It went downhill when Goku pulls out the 3rd ssj and onwards with all of the super saiyan varaint nonsense.
DBClassic and DBZ were peak DB content. The fights and transformations actually meant something and seeing goku fight villains much stronger than himself and actually struggle with it always left me on the edge of my seat. Now DBS characters fart and half the universe is gone 
If I want to watch ridiculous fights between insanely overpowered beings, I'd much rather watch DBGT than super.
I lost all interest after the Buu Saga.
i grew out of DB it after Kid Buu but its still always special to me, the games were great too
Buu saga felt like a cheap cell saga knockoff. Gohan was heavily nerfed, Ssj3 is weird and not grand than the other ssj's.
