I think it's so sad that these days archetypes like this are often so maligned.

I remember back on Sonic 06 with Elise. I loved saving Elise ^_^

For me as a guy it felt good to save the damsel in distress! And it's not like I was hidden away in some basement playing the game - the memory I have is of playing it at the very busy and very sociable video game store that I worked at at the time

And for many women they enjoy when a man "saves" them. It makes them feel cared about and protected.

It's NOT BAD. It's healthy and positive and totally normal human behaviour that should be celebrated, not maligned.

This woke culture is so unhealthy both in the thinking behind it and in the effect that it has on a population.

I genuinely feel sorry for everyone who has to live under it.

Well men's power fantasy is usually about being a hero and saving the day. Men are motivated by women or the idea of a woman, so this is making perfect sense.

And for many women they enjoy when a man "saves" them. It makes them feel cared about and protected.

If their white knight takes of the helmet and reveals a strong jawline it does. Otherwise, not good.

I genuinely feel sorry for everyone who has to live under it.

It is biologically natural for men to want to save, protect and provide for women.

In return, women are supposed to offer affection, intimacy, companionship and sex to men. This has been the social contract for thousands of years and it was good.

Now in the last hundred years, which is like 0,1% of the entire human existance, feminists are trying (and succeeded) to turn everything upside down.

Now men no longer get anything, but women still expect all the benefits they previously had.

foids nowadays are damsels in distress

they are perpetual victims who all have some trauma and are always panicked or in danger

but it's so common that it's not important any more. they have tons of simps trying to help with their 'problems,' and also the police. it's trivial

Yeah there's this huge disconnect really between fiction and reality where in fiction they're girlbosses and in reality they're... if anything just spoiled, but otherwise they're basically the same as they've always been.

If you want to save the damsel in distress in fiction you're a bad person and if you want to do it in reality you're lost in the numbers. You're right on that I think

It's weird about the girlbosses because in reality they're very rare. Real women are generally speaking just not like that. You get some here and there like in the police, but even then they're not typically anywhere close to the strength and competence of the men.

they have social status and privilege for existing, and they are easily outperforming men in academics + finding roles like HR and DEI which grant them power over men

the 'girlboss' just rationalizes their social status, it is a myth which reinforces their position in society

I agree though that they're favoured for those roles.

And yeah I do think there's a push to encourage people to see women as naturally superior even if they do nothing to earn it, which is usually the case.

I don't think societies can typically thrive or even survive with women placed above men.
