-Take the entire population of North America (US, Canada, Mexico) add it to the entire population of Europe, add it to the entire population of Australia. And you still don't have a population as big as India (1.351B vs. 1.408B)
-Then make that population 3rd world poor
-Then make that population English-speaking with news stories reported in English around the world

The truth is India is much less dangerous than a lot of places in Latin America, Middle East and Africa and certain regions elsewhere in the world.
