For those of us who are lucky(?) enough to be able to live a NEET lifestyle or did so at one point(not including when you were younger and at school) how is- or how was it?

In general- how did being a NEET impact your mental state, quality of life, copes & hobbies, health, overall lifestyle, etc?

I currently am at college & work a part-time job which is correlated with the University: I have never actually been a NEET, the closest being a few months over the lockdown in my State just after I graduated and my workplace was closed temporarily.

Whilst being NEET does sound fun at the beginning, it probably would eventually get mentally draining: Also, if you wish to finance all your copes it would be difficult unless you can get NEETbux or have a wealthy family who are prepared to finance your NEET lifestyle. NEETbux aren't really a thing in general in the United States -in comparison to other countries- but especially not in a red state such as mine.

Tagging some former/current NEETs for their two-cents:

I havent been a NEET in a long time but its depressing doing nothing and knowing youre wasting your life and going absolutely nowhere.
Yeah I imagine it would be like that, especially after awhile. Even with copes such as gaming, watching shows/movies, reading, etc. it would probably get miserable. Unless you are rich and can afford to cope hard with whatever your copes/hobbies are or trying new things it sounds mentally draining.

It was fun in the beginning but after a few months, it felt closer to a prison. The days were all the same, get up, fuck around on my PC, go to bed. After a while, I felt depressed as fuck because it felt like I was just wasting my life and getting nowhere. It probably would have been more bearable if I had a car or somewhere I could go instead of being stuck inside all day.

Neet Prison > wage cage.

I've mostly been a NEET for the past 8 years, I've worked odd jobs here and there, been getting NEETbux for the past 3 years. I don't think that wage slaving at a 9-5 will improve my life, it will make me want to kill myself.

I've been a NEET for 6 years, I'm doing fine.

Its really not though. Get a job and go out on your own. Sitting inside all day will drive you crazy. You dont want to buy a car and other things?
And go where, if I want to see something i can google it.

On second thought, it probably is best to NEET if you live with your parents. If youre on your own then all the money goes to rent and other bullshit. Personally id like to live with my parents but work and save so that I can ascend in china. Going to china is my only goal in life then I will rope.

Ive been trying for 7 years to save money. Those kikes just wont let it happen.
Keep spinning you will reach the carrot soon.

I prefer semi neetdom. I currently make about 8k/month doing about 10 hours a week. This is a good happy spot for me, I can afford my hobbies/travel but still stay occupied and not lose purpose. Although if economy improves I will assume it's temporary and probably haul ass and gun for another house.

@AnotherInsertCel

Idk about that. I’ve accomplished far more than any NEET despite cutting it close. I have an expensive car and live in a nice area by myself. Id much rather have that than NEET. Ive already come far and you havent even started. The longer you wait to get a job the worse it will be for you
Nothing will satisfy human greed, once you achieve what you want it's replaced with something new.

Not true. I dont have a choice anyway. My parents wont support me. Theyre piece of shit boomers
The more you own the more you need to maintain it.

The NEET life isn't for everyone. Only the strongest survive.

I’m a NEET hermit. Do what I want when I want.

The term NEET is used to shame anybody that’s not abiding by the status quo a rancher would be considered a NEET by definition even tho he’s puttin in work he’d still be hated and shamed same with an entrepreneur making money on his own without a corporate job

Does it count if I’m not working the summer between graduating high school and before I start university.

Worst 4 years of my life spent all my time and money on games and hookers was miserable only when i got a decent job i steadied and felt fulfilled

I want money but fuck work

Depressing tbh, I actually like having money but I used to be too depressed to even feel like working, plus all the jobs available to me were minimum wage jobs where women would boss over me.

I landed a job in construction now

just ldar and think about suicide all day

Feeling cool because no real responsibilities for now.
But feeling miserable because still living with mom at 23 yo.

NEET life is super comfy after wageslaving for years. Do whatever I want 24/7. I'm far healthier both mentally and physically with time to exercise and do activities. No stress. I'm lucky to have no worries about money, also.

It's not all great, though. NEETdom also permanently relegates me to loneliness, which most of the time I'm fine with, but there can be some sad times as it's truly over socially once you go this route.
