Seems reasonable. Like if she had good choice in companionship she prob would've had an ex she stuck with. The only exception to that are freak occurances like if the ex died in a work accident or protecting her or something like that, I wouldn't hold that against her.

If it's cases like she got cheated on though, I begin to wonder if she gravitates towards abusers like that, in which case she would prob cheat on me with another abuser.

OTOH this is something I try to think of from the reverse side. If I dated a girl and she cheated on me, would I want a next potential GF to hold that against me because I had imperfect judgment?

That's why I try to be wary-but-tolerant of girl's pasts. I have no absolute rules, but how she behaves in regard to her past will educate me about who she is and if she is marriage material.
