I must become better at writing concise posts, even if I must sacrifice quality in a Faustian bargain, for it's better to be heard poorly than not at all. My friend, a year older than me, spent most of his life in Croatia. He moved here for a better life, but is yet to find one. Even though the dating market in Croatia is better than the Far-West, there are still incel men, and he, unfortunately, had the misfortune of being one. When he was 17 he attempted suicide due to abuse, bullying, and overall hopelessness. He had a jaw deformity that made his face unforgivably asymmetrical, he knew this wouldn't wither with time. Upon failing his suicide attempt, he was forced into a ward. Unlike the Far-West, Croatian mental health experts can hold you for much longer than the standard North American 48-hour period. He was put in their for two months.
An understaffed and underfunded Asylum allowed little room for regimented standards, group therapy sessions replaced individual psychoanalysis, and the strong bulky patients were allowed to do whatever they pleased, provided they weren't violent. My friend recalls that during mandatory group therapy session, one extremely hot crazy chick and this drug abuser Chad decided to make out the whole time. They ignored the therapist and stood up to make out just outside the therapy circle, in plain sight of everyone. The therapist was just glad they were kept busy, and decided to continue with the session while they were making out. My friend was in full view of it and it drove him absolutely crazy. He asked to be moved to the adjacent side of the circle so they were out of his view, but the therapist denied his request and gaslit him for even asking.
>"Why? They're just kissing, just be happy for them? It shouldn't bother you"
The therapist used the fact that he was bothered by the couple making out to further insinuate that he was mentally ill. After all, only a mentally ill person would be bothered by a couple in love right? My friend realized what was happening and decided to just put up with it, he wanted out of the asylum more than anything, if only to attempt suicide again. One of the biggest takeaways at the end was how torturous it was to stare at that couple, not just because he was cucked, but because he was strictly monitored and even death was not an option for him.
