They need to keep siphoning wealth and resources from the global south to sustain themselves.
They're also willing to go to world war 3 to keep their current global economic system (neoliberalism + imperialism) they have. Part of the reason why a lot of them are anti-China (since it represents an entirely different or an alternative economic system and of course it's also outcompeting the monopolies of the West too).

Depends how you look at it. Faggot marriage is legal in most of LatAm and a majority of young people there support it, but on the other hand, much more young people in Japan support abortion than Latinos do, so I'd say it could balance itself out.
