Seeing the rise and success of films like Joker, could the 1999 film Whatever, based on the book by Houellebecq, be released today and achieve mass commercial success? I think that a film like Whatever could be both a defining film of this decade and a major cinematic influence. I watched the movie and its amazing to see how right he was about the feelings we feel. If this was released in the next year or two, could it have a major societal impact by essentially being a blockbuster blackpill?

Edit: Even better version where he talks about going ER

No, absolutely not. It would cause mass suicides

The book is better in my opinion. Also, not much happens in Whatever until the climax scene in the nightclub, I think it would be lost on modern audiences who demand constant stimulation. The social commentary is way too blackpilled to be a Hollywood production, a faithful retelling of the book would be impossible nowadays.

When men complain, they annoy people. But Houellebecq realized the exploit to get success et be recognized by complaining about his sexual situation. Original Whatever title is more complicated : " Extension du domaine de la lutte " and it describes what would be liberalism applied to social relationships. In France he's considered like a genius. But he's no incel, he got married for the 3rd time also with a fine asian wife
