They have been shipped off to basically massive prisons where they are kept away from society and as a result there is basically no more crime there. Sure you could do that in a country however you run the risk of z revolution if the government / leader isn't insanely well liked by a supermajority. If Trump were to do this, then the Democrats would go apeshit and start a civil war / insurrection.
