So this dude I know is on dating apps and has been for years. He doesn't like bars or clubs. He used to have little bother just setting up an account and waiting for women to message first but the last few years he has a bit. Still he does have occasional admirers without trying.

He showed me a recent message exchange with one of them last week. The woman stated in one message that women tend to care more about personality than men do and that she was no different. Literally a day later she stated that the reason she was interested in the guy was that he was cute and that he looked better in person than in photos. He's shown me messages before of women admitting similar.

Why do women bother pretending it's about anything but looks.

1. To feel better about themselves being shallow. By saying, "it's personality, not looks", they're trying to convince themselves they aren't shallow Chad only whores.
2. Being the weaker sex and thus facing higher chances of physical aggression, they often do "soft" rejections with males again blaming some other factor besides looks to avoid making him angry (unless you're sub5 she'll just spit in your face then)

It's the gaslighting I hate. It just gives people false hope or pushes them in the wrong direction.

I currently know a guy who is struggling and barely anyone has told him it's because he is 5ft 7 and doesn't have the facial bone structure or frame to make up for it. So he instead wastes his time altering stuff that doesn't matter in dating.
