Chad will graduate from business school, open a software company, and then hire all of the nerds he used to bully in high school. He'll also hire a super hot foids to keep the sub8's motivated, but he'll be fucking all of them in his office.
Computer science is trendy right now. It brings in a lot of money for universities. Some cirriculums have been watered down, but for the most part it's still a solid degree.

In order to be a good programmer you have to be stuck alone with a computer for hours and hours and hours.

You know at this age , almost every guy already has a secured job , a cute wife and kids ,3 bedrooms house with garage and BBQ lawn.
yup and that PhD guy will have to work for low salary, write essays and often no one will acknowledge or read them. even worse nowadays in many fields you cannot make breakthroughs of substantial substance without massive budget, and coworkers.

There is a high chance that he will end up being a single adjunct hoping to get a real tenured job.
