The "midface ratio" is defined as the proportions of a rectangle bounded by your pupils and the upper boundary of your lips. The higher the ratio, the more compact the midface.

Here are the ratios of several guys universally considered handsome (see attachments):
John Kortajerena: 0.90
Ryan Reynolds: 0.84
Jason Statham: 0.92
Tom Cruise: 0.95
Channing Tatum: 0.93

Most of the Chads I've analyzed in my career didn't even reach 1.0

We found that facial cues to perceived height had a strong relationship with perceived leadership ability.
One possible facial cue that could be associated with height is facial elongation

In other words: men with longer faces seem taller and more adult.
Everyone who says men with long midfaces are ugly - apologize.

Because it usually can make someone ugly but that doesn't mean it's over automatically.

Ryan Gosling is still considered attractive by many despite it and as I said, as long as your facial thirds are proportionate, it's not that bad. It also depends where you measure tbh.

Because it is.
A face either looks good or it doesn't. Certain values of certain ratios are correlated with good looks, but none of them is the silver bullet.
