From my HS experience thread:

-Partner from physics class, “You look like you’re going to blow up the school haha” and “Go back to Bangladesh”

-Geometry class partner shows our group a news alert on his phone that some school in California was cancelled because of a threat. He looks at me and says, “If you ever decide to blow up the school, let me know so I don’t go that day.”

-One of my group partners from Spanish tells me, “Yeah dude, everyone talks shit about you because they think you’re a terrorist or something.”

Spanish class, group of boys start making fun of me for looking middle eastern. I usually overhear them saying, “He’s a terrorist?” and also saying some random Arabic words trying to get my attention.

Anyone who still denies looks matter even less than an order of magnitude more than personality is a fucking retard or in denial about reality.

I think it's more of a subtle put-down than anything. Same thing when normies make you out to be either pathetic or grandiosely important and cool. The key indication something is wrong is that in both situations they don't accept you like they do the average person. You don't want to be treated special or like a star either, you just want to be treated normally like everyone else.

To be honest, its not even the mere words that made me feel inferior, but it was the tone of voice they said it in, and also the fact that I was literally the only one who was treated like this. It pained me that I couldn't find an explanation for why it was happening, since I still thought I looked good. But the fact that it was happening to me and not others meant that I was being mogged, and that was painful. The realization that because you are at the bottom, no one will ever love you.
I was able to deal with most of it since I have a lot of patience, but at some point you just realize the truth about the implications of their behavior, and that is not pleasant. When you are a kid you haven't learned to just laugh things off.
If someone said some shit like that to me today I wouldn't think about it so much as I would back then tbh. It would just prove my point
