Ya thats another reason why Russia's classist, gangster society doesn't work over the long run, and always melts down into civil war. Russian men are always trying to become the new nobility. Where they both have huge wealth and huge power over the people in their area. Being so far above everybody means not just you are rich, but that you intentionally keep the people poor.

The fundamental problem is Russian men don't want to live in a free society. They want to be Lord of the Manor and to be able to steal from and push around the other men in their area.

Ya back in the Great Depression the most advanced minds had figured out that the path forward had to be national Bolshevism/Socialism.. Liberal Communism or whatever you want to call it. A hybrid capitalist-communist society.

So in Western Europe the Nazis put in place the modern state that still exists in those countries. It was never dismantled after the war, only the Nazi symbols taken down. In Britain they had the Bevan report, which outlined how the large state created in ww2 would stay operational after the war, and be directed towards things like mass building public houses and public health care. Then in the US there was the New Deal in the 1930's and then huge state expansion in ww2, which more or less was the same plan.

The goodness in the Soviet ideology was using the state and power of mass industry to provide surplus production for everybody. And that is the best thing imo about modern Russia, is cheap housing, food, vodka, fuel, electricity, water for everybody.

In the US although ti probably will never get much coverage, New Deal 2.0 is underway, its a decades long process.
