I’ve been reading a little bit on Chinese Eunuchs. Apparently China didn’t stop making Eunuchs until the 1920s. The last Chinese Eunuch died in 1996 lmfao.
But even worse, Chinese Eunuchs weren’t like regular eunuchs. They would have their testicles and their penises removed. It was believed this made them “cleaner” and “more pure” (sound familiar?). This left them with just a hole that would constantly leak urine. They had to use little tubes that would keep the hole from closing with scar tissue. These tubes were decorated and were seen as status symbols.
Being a eunuch was a way to rise in social status and escape poverty. In fact, eunuchs could often collect enough money to raise their whole families out of poverty. Obviously, for this reason, poor parents would castrate their sons against their will so that they could become rich and make their parents wealthy. Many of these sons died (obviously), but that didn’t matter because people only ever remembered the ones that survived. It’s a clear example of Survivorship Bias in action.
So yeah, if we’re ranking on a scale of how over it’s over, it was never more over than it was for Chinese Eunuchs. For Chinese Eunuchs, it was literally over before it began.
Anyways, I’m tired of the human race. I wouldn’t reproduce if I could. We’re truly the shittiest species on this planet.
