Children to be taught about incel culture in new anti-misogyny school classes
Schools will be able to implement the guidance from September this year
The Department for Education (DfE) has proposed that schools begin teaching anti-misogyny lessons to students in a bid to tackle the rise of the 'manosphere'. Under new guidance published on Tuesday, children will be taught how to combat misogyny and resist so-called incel (involuntary celibate) culture.
The recommendation on relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) focuses on helping boys find positive role models amid the increasing spread of sexist online content from toxic masculinity influencers such as Andrew Tate.
CuckedAs part of the new measures, secondary schools will also be required to provide young people with greater awareness of AI, deepfakes and links between pornography and misogyny. The DfE recently warned that misogynistic attitudes had reached "epidemic scale" among young people, with 54 per cent of those aged between 11 and 19 saying they had witnessed misogynist comments.
