It was written by Dory Previn about Mia Farrow, who her husband cheated on her with and married her. When she was 43 and Mia Farrow was 24. She went a bit insane, was institutionalised and had electroconvulsive therapy. Then when Mia Farrow was ~47, her longtime boyfriend, Woody Allen, cheated on her with her 17 year old adopted daughter, and married her. I actually think it's a really good song.
