To keep this simple. My normal exercise is lifting 3 days per week, full body (every now and then I'll return to a bro-split and do 5 days per week, but other than that it's normally 3) - Normally I am SEDENTARY outside of those lifting sessions.

TO THE POINT

With cardio, even while keeping the same diet, I see no weight loss or bodyfat reduction from doing cardio.

Example:

  1. I start doing 1 to 2 hours per day cardio (on-top of my lifting sessions), everyday, for 1 month - at the end of the month, my weight or bodyfat hasn't changed.
  2. The following month, I will completely remove all cardio, and my only exercise will be my normal lifting sessions, but otherwise 0 cardio for the month, and guess what? my weight or bodyfat hasn't changed.
  3. So cardio for me does nothing for fatloss, what it does is make me better at doing cardio, it has no effect on my bodyfat % or weight.


Why does this happen? LOW TEST or something? When I see a Chad doing cardio, his bodyfat melts off like butter, so much so that the Chad has to limit the amount of cardio he does, or else he'll just melt weight off from it.

As long as your caloric expenditure is lower than your caloric intake you will lose weight.
Humans cant just run on nothing as energy. Energy will be taken from the fat cells once consumed food is out.

I wish I could see an actual visible benefit from doing cardio. I do gain the benefit from cardio of becoming much fitter, and I'm sure it is beneficial for my internal body, but I just don't see any differences from doing it on my body from an aesthetical point of view.

I assumed that going from doing 0 cardio, to doing cardio all the time, that my body would want to maintain at least 5-10% lower bodyfat, based on the dramatically increased energy output, but it just doesn't care, it just stays the same bodyfat.

My body must just be incredibly efficient at using as minimal calories as possible while doing cardio - which is perfect for survival in the wild, but horrible for getting an aesthetic body.

Hormones play a huge part how effectively your body uses the calories, how it partitions calories for storage, or even how much calories you use for activity, etc.

Lifting weights + being sedentary keeps me at the same bodyfat as Lifting weights + tons of cardio does.

It is clear as day to me that cardio is pointless as a fat loss tool (at least for me)

have you tried fasting?
in theory it should work very well for cardio & weight loss.
try cardio no sooner then 8 hours after your last intake of calories.

your intensity is also too low. you shouldn't be able to do 2 hours of cardio on top of your lifting session.
 
Just eat less carbs bro. Even if you'll end up low T on a low carb diet.
 
You must be "skinnyfat". Just keep lifting and be patient. I had a very similar issue. What was the solution for me was to just lift, no cardio. I built muscle mass and at the same time lost fat. Weight stayed the same.
For some people it just takes forever, but you'll get there.

even guys on steroids use low calories, like 2000 a day to diet

you're eating too much

but with shitty genes you'll feel hungry and want to die, all the time, when dieting

You probably developed muscles or ate too much or both.
 
Shitty genes is why you feel like sluggish shit on a calorie deficit, despite being over 20% body fat. You don't mobilize adipose well.

You're fucked because even if you empty out those fat cells, the cells themselves don't go away, and WANT to be filled.

I knew some guys (half black, white) I would play full court basketball with at least 3 times a week and they were fat.

Then every so often you'd come across a tall, skinny ripped west african guy who would be at 10% bf, he'd play all day and never get hungry while the fat guys were always eating.

Yeah. A lot of fat guys get on some of the more hardcore weight cutting drugs, and all they do is eat more.

Eating for a dopamine rush is worse than jerking off.

I know so many guys who do this. They'll play basketball for an hour then go eat like 1500 calories of fast food.

And just keep getting fatter.
 
There is 100% no way you aren't losing weight if you do cardio for 1-2 hours everyday for a month while keeping the same diet.

Either:

1. You eat like a pig
2. You are doing super, super low intensity cardio (ex. biking on the lowest setting)

Try running 5km everyday for a month with the same diet and come back to me and say you don't lose weight.

I saw a girl go from regular sized to obese all in her early 20s at my gym. And she was there almost everyday on the cardio machines.

Actually most women I see at the gym are like this. Everyone just gets infinitely fatter and it never ends.

There's two kinds of women: the skinny, weak office girl trying to eat one cracker for ten minutes because she loves Instagram attention and dick more than food, and the gym piglet who thinks her 30 minutes on the elliptical at a 6 intensity is permission to hit sour cream donuts.

I cut at 600 cals a day of protein and after two days just getting up to take a piss is like climbing mount everest.

Works though.
 
Cardio doesn't burn that many calories (as you're not building any muscle). It's more for your cardiovascular health.

Maybe you're eating more after cardio and not realizing it or deliberately eating back your calories (huge mistake, people and machines are both awful at estimating how many calories are burned with exercise).

I've been bulking for the past 6.2 weeks, first bulk I've ever done where I've included cardio, and not only have I noticed very little fat gain, but I'm even starting to see definition in my middle/lower abs, which is crazy for a bulk (not too crazy though, I work my abs to death on pull day and do a lot of compound exercises that demand core stability).

Point is cardio is a powerful tool that has to be used intelligently to work.
