I think that if you have enough insight into what your SMV is and have grown up with foids treating you badly, you can skip over the trying and being rejected part because you know that you'll always be rejected.

I guess technically if you consider "rejection" as in foids just don't talk to you / ignore you, but... then again, you never know. I've been both ignored and mock'd, so I definitely knew early on, that's for sure.
