I am soon abroad alone for 11 days and only on my own. can you easily get into a depressive mood? When you see all the people running around outside in groups, with families and you are all alone in the middle of the mass of people?
It's really dependent on the disposition you have in life. I myself get fairly envious rather quickly, which in turns absolutely ruins anything I try to do.
If you're someone that can set aside those emotions and focus on the yourself rather than others, then you obviously wont be bothered by it.
Eat some good food, take a walk, go to the beach. Try to do this while listening to a funny podcast or some music, that always helps me feel less alone.
I love going to macdonalds while listening to debates, it makes it easier to disconnect from the world around me, and focus on myself.

Yes but try to keep busy and remind yourself you get to do what you want when you want, and don’t have to listen to input from a travel companion.

Of course. I've spent every vacation alone and it's brutal seeing couples in public. Now that i live in the countryside i will hopefully not see as many or none at all.

The most miserable thing is eating alone all the time, surrounded by people who are in big groups laughing and joking. For me I'm just pushing food into my stomach and looking forward to leaving, for them it's a joyous time with friends and family.
