Looks fade over time anyway. I see it like that: When I like her and she likes me and we can have sex and we do care about each other I don't care so much how she looks.

I am not sure. I think it is more an indirect effect. High IQ is correlated with low testosterone. Low testosterone is not only correlated with being less masculine, but also with not wanting/enjoying sex that much and with favouring personality over looks, probably because you don't get the "I am attracted" feeling that strongly anyway.
