Shorter midface: A flat maxilla makes the middle third of the face appear shorter, disrupting facial proportions and balance.

Lack of nasal support: The maxilla provides structural support to the nose, and a flat maxilla may lead to a flatter or less pronounced nose.

Reduced lip projection: The lack of forward projection of the maxilla can cause the lips to appear less full or less projected, creating an imbalanced look.

Poor jawline definition: A recessed or flat maxilla can cause the lower face to appear more prominent in relation to the upper face, weakening overall facial harmony.

Facial asymmetry: A flat or uneven maxilla can exacerbate facial asymmetry, especially if one side is more recessed than the other, affecting symmetry and proportionality.

Crowded or misaligned teeth: The narrow dental arch created by a flat maxilla can lead to dental crowding and bite issues like overbite or crossbite, which can affect both function and appearance.

Sunken cheeks: Since the maxilla supports the cheeks, a flat maxilla can make the cheeks appear hollow or sunken, contributing to an aged or less youthful appearance.

Weakened support for facial muscles: The maxilla helps support facial muscles, and when it's flat, the muscles around the cheeks and mouth may lack definition, affecting expressions and contributing to a less dynamic appearance.

Increased prominence of the lower face: A flat maxilla can cause the lower third of the face, including the jawline, to appear more dominant, leading to disproportion between the upper and lower face.

Impact on facial profile: From a side view, a flat maxilla can make the face look flatter and less convex, negatively affecting profile balance and symmetry.

Compromised aesthetic balance: The maxilla plays a key role in overall facial harmony, and when it is flat, it can disrupt the symmetry between the eyes, nose, and mouth, leading to an imbalance that may not meet conventional beauty standards.

Less pronounced eye contour: The maxilla helps define the area around the eyes, and a flat maxilla can cause the lower eyelids to appear hollow or sunken, making the eyes look tired or less vibrant.

Downward eye tilt: A recessed maxilla can influence the positioning of the eyes, potentially causing a slight downward tilt that alters facial expressions and eye symmetry.

Dark circles or eye bags: The lack of volume in the midface can make dark circles or puffiness under the eyes more prominent, creating a fatigued appearance.

Reduced eye prominence: A flat maxilla may make the eyes appear less prominent, affecting the overall expression and balance of facial features.

Think I have this

This isn't true and the description isn't really clear. Jawline definition is affected by bodyfat and a retrusive mandible

Damn then I might not have this. I’m 25% body fat and my jawline is pretty prominent but it doesn’t harmonize well with my face and I think it’s because I have an overbite . I’m getting my overbite fixed with braces and elastics .
