Tbf the users didn't really hate him. You can see it on "new IT" but more so the mods. He abused his mod powers and banned every single incel basically I was banned from IT and another mod got me unbanned. He constantly made posts that broke their rules.

One of the former mods went on that podcast about incels and talked about the toxicity rampant in the original sub. Overtime the original moderation team began to realize the subreddit was complete garbage fulled with toxic bullies.

Right before they decided to shut it down they put out 3 stickies: don't false-flag incel content, don't encourage incels to commit suicide, and don't bully incels. The fact that they needed to even do that shows just how garbage the sub was.

The replacement is even worse.

Here's what happened: One of the top mods came back after a long hiatus, only to find the subreddit to be 90% Sigma shitposts, as well as tons of controversies due to ITers fabricating incel posts, generic virgin shaming, and even false flagging incel subreddits/forums by posting child pornography as a way to get us banned.

The returning mod made a post talking about the state of the subreddit, saying how it went to shit and wanted some ideas on how to improve the state of IncelTears. Some PSAs were made during this time. After like a week of no one giving a shit about the PSAs, and BrazilianSigma continuing to dump his shit as usual, he banned all the other mods and shut-down the subreddit, saying that IncelTears had lost its edge.

After this, a couple of IncelTears alternatives were created, some to be "more helpful than IT", and another (IncelTear) for continuing to shit on incels. Sigma eventually went to r/IncelTear and is doing his trademark no-lifing once again.

IncelTear has also begun to erase history, by somehow suggesting that the account that shut-down IncelTears was hacked by Incels, even though everything points to it simply being an old moderator coming back and feeling ashamed of his own creation.
