i didn't buy fallout 4 because of many negative reviews it got about how stripped down the rpg/choice system was, has a "mixed " rating overall on steam, generally a bad game if it is

Well for one, your decisions and dialogue choices actually have consequences like any good RPG does. This simply does not exist in FO4.
Also quests and characters are just more interesting. There isn’t one character in FO4 that stands out for me.
FO4 is a call of duty game with fallout elements.
New vegas is a better RPG and has the best quest/faction mechanics out of all fallout games, some people think it has shoddy gunplay but i actually like it.
