My class is reading Canterbury Tales in English right now and my roastie teacher decided to highlight this part of the passage. The bluepilled cucks couldn’t believe it jfl

“Wommen desiren to have sovereyntee
As wel over hir housbond as hir love,
And for to been in maistrie hym above.”

“The knight's expression of women's desire for sovereignty is a powerful moment in the character development of the Knight. Because his crime was to forcibly deprive a woman of sovereignty over herself, his acknowledgment that women most desire sovereignty over their lovers is a step in his rehabilitation, as well as a chastening of him for his crime.”

First interpretation on Google.

It's saying that women, above all else, desire utter control over others. I believe at some later point the man who stated this is revealed to have been given the answer by some other woman that demands he marry her for providing him with the information.

I may be horridly off base however.
