Bullshit in the sense it wouldn't be considered a "disorder" if all men where aware women will judge you on the way you look and that being good looking is a prerequisite to being in relationships. If all men knew, they would all try to looksmax and they would care about their flaws, like us.

All BBD means is that you are aware of your flaws and you are also aware that they bring you down.

I´ve seen many average/ugly girls use Tinder and they simply won´t swipe right until you are a legit 8+/10. No dude. BDD is an actual mental illness that attractive people get. 

Like, a girl who's hot gets told she's an ugly whore by her alcoholic abusive dad until she believes it and then has to go to therapy to figure out how to stop believing it because it's actually in the world not true. 

Like, anorexic girls who look at themselves at 80 pounds and think they're fat have it, it's part of the eating disorder and often what drives it. It's academic shit man you can read textbooks about it and stuff. Like, even a girl who's a serious 2/10 nuclear facial flaws girl can have that where she's more focused on her body than her insanely unfortunate face. 

Brains are wierd as shit dude. But most BDD is attractive people who got abused and lied to about their appearance until they believe it.
