Discussion Black Metal is such a fucking joke

I always tried to get into Black Metal. And sure, there are a few good tracks here and there - but this is true for every single genre out there. But by and large, Black Metal is a total joke. I love the atmosphere: anti-Christian, Satanic, dark, often suicidal and/or misanthropic. Perfect cope for those who daydream about the occult and all that shit. But WTF is it with the music? It's so fucking ridiculous. Every track sounds the same. Corporate Hollywood music has more soul than these carbon copies of trashy songs that just give you headaches. The atmosphere is cool - like daydream about ruling with Satan or whatever - but teh actual music is a fucking joke. And the musicians are a fucking joke as well. All these old dudes in their earlier 40s with grey hair, balding, but still with a ponytail at the back, wearing shitty high-school clothes and drinking beer and then babbling some pseudo-intellectual BS about that one Nietzsche quote they know from Wikipedia. It's a fucking joke.

Black Metal died with Young Varg Vikernes. Pagan/Folk Metal is far better tbh. I can suggest you some bands/songs if you want.

Drudkh is called atmoshit because it is more post rock/atmospheric/ambient with metal vocals, not actual metal.
