Any of you gymcels follow pro bodybuilding? I casually do. I’ve been rooting for Egyptian bodybuilder Big Ramy to win and he finally won this year. Thoughts?

Competitive Bodybuilding is gay as fuck. I prefer powerlifting instead.
I think some of Phil Heaths Olympia titles were undeserved and should have gone to Ramy.
special shout out to Dexter Jackson who has been at the top for like 20 years, that’s unheard of.
Open bodybuilding is getting uglier more and more because it is moving away from the set mathmatical ratio for an aesthetic physique.
In the past you had some very aesthetic guys like Frank zane, Serge nubret, Bob Paris (5'10"), Berry Demey, Charles Clair monte etc..
At 5'10" big ramy is at 290lbs while steven cao at 5' 10" is 190lbs contest shape in physique cat.
Look at steve reeves , the king of aesthetic proportion and see how far off guys like big ramy is.
Steve Reeve 6'1" 216lbs 8-10% bf.
In inches
Waist to height 30/73 = 41% (40-44 range)
Torso to waist 54/30 = 1.8 (need at least 1.4)
Calf, arm, neck all at 18.5(should be same for all 3)
Arm to thigh -18.5/27 = .68 ( should be at least 2/3)
Thigh to waist -27/30 =.90(.85 to 1.00 preferably).
Ideal leg is
Calf= 1.9 to 2x ankle size
Thigh= 1.75 knee size
There is also a leg to height (up to the neck) ratio which I dont have.
So basically if your waist/hip is not small enough , it is going to be very hard to make your physique look good.
