MacCready is good for nostalgiccels, he is the kid from Fallout 3 
Hancock is cool and badass.
Deacon is cool, funny and interesting. He keeps an eye on you the entire game and you can meet him in various places in disguises. Unique, never had a companion like this in any game
Nick is kind of boring.
Piper is good woman to BREED
Curie is good woman to BREED and listen to her sexy voice
Cait is good woman to BREED
Preston is underrated and gets too much hate. He's a good guy who gives you quests to do. I want to do quests because I love the game
Terminator synth guy is the most badass. XX something, I don't know his full name
Cosworth is funny, but not very useful. I like ranged companions. He is melee and gets in the way
There is also the mutant companion who says some crazy stuff, it's entertaining
And Dogmeat who is the worst companion because of the dogpill
In conclusion, most companions are good. I love Fallout, I am a Falloutcel
