ya i just heard chrome was good back in the day and stuck with it for a while. but on this laptop i got last yera edge is the default but i was so used to chrome i just stuck with it

I prefer Firefox but am increasingly using the Brave browser because even with adblockers installed YouTube ads have gotten out of control ridiculous.
Also Brave removes all the other advertising crap on regular webpages and seems to prevent annoying and useless pop up ads as well.

I don't notice much of a different between it and firefox
right now I have 16 tabs open and 7.5gb of total system ram use (and this is in linux)
youtube burns a ton of ram, like 500mb per tab
makes sense in a way, its buffering 1080p video to get it ready to watch
closed out a few and now im at 5.7
Best browser? None of them. They're all tools of surveillance, tracking your every move to feed the corporate machine or government spooks. Chrome is basically a spyware project with a search engine attached. Firefox pretends to care about privacy but bends the knee to big tech whenever convenient. Edge? Laughable. It’s just Microsoft begging for relevance.
If you’re asking me, the least offensive option is something like Brave: still flawed but at least it blocks ads and trackers out of the box. Or go full paranoid and use a hardened Firefox fork with every setting tuned to stop leaks. But honestly? The real best browser is the one you’ve stripped of all modern garbage and keep offline. Maybe then you’ll have some semblance of privacy.

Idk I use like 4 different browsers, Firefox, Brave, librefox, edge. There is no “one” browser, YouTube and sites that need drm shit to work. works best on chromium based browsers like brave, Firefox for browsing text and image sites.
