for dnwcels, the video is about studies that say being lonely is the biggest cause of mental health issues and even health issues like heart problems JFL.

30% isn't that big a difference.

Basically being lonely is as harmful as smoking half a pack a day.

But 30% just isn't that big an increase, however you phrase it.

2x would be a big increase, or 5x!

But 30% is fairly small.

Interesting,

I wonder if that explains my early hair loss

and the difference between both is you can’t control being born a subhuman JFL but you can control how much you smoke

30% is not small, most idiot take I’ve ever heard

Doctors go insane when they can make a drug to reduce your risk by only 5%, yet you’re shitting on a 30% increase in risk only from loneliness. Fuck out of here man

Where are these doctors who are going insane, lol

This is good because I want to die early. Nature would be cruel if it were to unnecessarily prolong my life while im suffering. Live fast die young

Here’s the study on statins, the most prescribed drug ever for high cholesterol and heart disease that’s regarded as a miracle drug. And it only reduces your risk by less than 10%. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2795522

Are they going insane though?

Also I think I've worked out the miscommunication we have here.

I'm not sure what the correct terminology is, but let's say Mr John Smith's normal risk of heart disease is 2%. You are interpreting this as his risk now being 32%. Whereas I'm interpreting it as it now being 2.6%.

Yep those same numbers are in the study above. The absolute risk reduction is only like 0.3% in the study above. And yes they are going insane. Statins make up most of the top 10 most prescribed drugs (look it up). When it comes to heart disease, even a relative difference of 30% starting from a 2% risk is considered massive.
