I haven't heard of anybody else having this, but it's bad.

I am either actively watching for hours or playing sitcoms in the background while browsing the internet or even playing a game.

But here's the dangerous part: doing anything without having this constant small source of dopamine from sitcoms is now nearly impossible for me. There's a lot of things that sitcoms grant me that I can't go without even for 5 minutes:

They keep me distracted and in escapism mode at all times. They are easy and allow me to turn my brain off all day and I'm basically as close as it can be to being awake and doing literally nothing. They are a distraction from what I may be doing and also they lessen the boredom that I feel at all times. They provide sounds in the background that feel like things are happening, that it's not lonely, they keep that feeling of being totally with yourself away. Also, there's the moderately funny/unfunny jokes that give very little doses of dopamine at all times.

Basically the moment I don't have a sitcom running it feels like I'm going through withdrawal. The world suddenly feels too quiet, too boring, too mentally demanding of brain power and energy, too difficult in many ways. It's basically literally rotting, it's a comfort zone that I can't get out of. I'm just watching the same ~15 or so sitcoms over and over.

My currycel friend is addicted to The Big Bang Theory lol

This is brutal.

Isn't that just being addicted to background noise and stimulation though? My dad is kinda like that, he can never be alone with his own thoughts.

i know how you feel OP, i'm kind of the same way except it's any kind of tv show/film, even podcasts. Makes being alone a little easier to tolerate.

This is me but with podcasts playing in the background

Sounds like a womans thing but its not that much of made up bullshit.

Watchin series is a good way to cope and distract yourself from your duties and problems. People can get mentally addicted to it as to video games or gambling. Though I have no idea who the fuck gets addicted to gambling.

Yet, there are way better copes and I wouldn't waste my time with sitcoms. Hope you at least watch two and a half men.

Podcastcels unite :feelsokman: But only those about selfimprovement, political or political satiere

i mean it is? it seems like some sort of dopamine deficiency/dependecy OP has
most of us have that tbh. I am no better given that I sometimes play video games for 14 hours straight. it's just that sitcoms in particular are:soy:

you're right that it isn't a conscious moral failing on OP's part though

sitcoms? why sitcoms?
Idk, I guess constant jokes and a light mood make it easier and more pleasant to play for hours and hours and hours (versus something more serious).
My currycel friend is addicted to The Big Bang Theory lol
It isn't part of my usual rotation, so that's why I've been watching it for the past few days. I'm on season 9 now. Only seen it like 2 or 3 in total.

Yeah it's a pretty bad cope, idk when I'll be able to get rid of it but I'll try. Two and a half men isn't part of my rotation, but I have watched it in full about ~3 or 4 times.

Podcasts are definitely better, maybe I'll try to get over sitcoms with them. But for now the constant stream of a lighthearted mood filled with (even if unfunny) jokes is an addiction that's hard to shake off.

Iirc I used to watch TV shows too. I guess I stopped a few years ago, my brain must've atrophied.

Ohh yes it's definitely a dopamine deficiency.

Actually I typed more in this comment but I decided to delete it, I've already doxxed myself enough on this forum.

Awesome. Together with Kenny vs Spenny and Workholics the only non-anime I like

Being alone with your thoughts really sucks. And it seeps into work too. Like, I can't write an essay or do any other task without feeling utter anxiety.

If you like Workaholics you might like It's always sunny in Philadelphia (it takes a while for it to grow on you, but it's fantastic).

depends on the type of sitcom but a lot of the generic ones present the bluepill idealistic family life. A normie with a wife who mogs him but loves him anyway, children, an upper middle class home and any problems they face are solved within 30 minutes. I can see the comfort in these shows, in the end we all need copes.

Can’t relate since i hate sitcoms

it can help you work if you're in a bad mood or have a bad attention span, i don't think it's that uncommon

I haven't watched any series in probably over 10 years

I'm guessing now they're all constantly "white man bad, white man racist" every episode?

Lol. Why would anyone watch cucked bluepilled sitcoms.

Watched 2 and a half men. Whole show is blackpilled and it is presented in a way that is funny to normies.
A lot of retard comedy movies are actually full off blackpills but normies think it's just some dark humour

More addictive than porn

Everything we do is an addiction as an incel.
People see us dedicate a lot of time at certain things but the actual reason for us doing so is because we aren't having sex or relationships

Modern humans are more comfortable with constant noise than without. Been studies on it. I always have some noise -usually music- unless I'm deep into reading something.

yeah, pretty much a given that you'd be watching old stuff.

the world is so ugly some days that the only way i can get some work done at home is to surround myself with something i enjoy, usually some old media or old dumb humor.

Workaholics and Kenny Vs Spenny were absolutely enjoyable.

I once watched Chernobyl (I know its not sitcom, right) and it so pissed me off with its moronic characters that I was once again reminded why I dont watch any kind of movies or tv series produced in the west (that is, the only kind that might be worth it).

I used to watch that shit but I had to stop. it was too brutal. many of them have subtle blackpills

Sitcoms are boring tbh

Based. Hardly found anyone who watched them, especially kenns vs spenny
I've watched Workaholics like ~5 times in total. I just watched an episode of kenny vs spenny to try it out. It's really funny, I like it. Kenny is great.

Jesus Christ what are you like 55 years old?

TV is for foids. If you noticed, most tv ads are targeted to females.

It might be a location thing too though. Here in the bay area not a lot of people watch TV while every other person down in Socal watches TV.

I never watch sitcoms

Some episodes are a bit boring but the "who can eat more meat" "who can blow the biggest fart" and "who can commit more crime" are hillarious.

Yeah I've watched 7 episodes so far. Some are really good, some I just skim to the good parts.

who touches the ground first loses sounds boring but is also quite funny

That chick with the ropes from the circus made me regret being an incel.

The blindfold episode is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Addiction? Do you mean you get withdrawal pains from not watching it? JFL, sorry but that is pretty funny.

Been watching some more. Kenny is funny but if I knew a person like him irl I'd be having thoughts of stabbing him on a daily basis. Spenny has this dislikeable aura about him, but he's a semi-good dude. From the comments I understand that Spenny apparently becomes more insane and whatnot, but I think Kenny kinda pushed him into it, I don't blame Spenny for that. If anything I wonder how Spenny didn't strangle the prick yet.
