So we were eating, we are still on bad terms so we don't speak or acknowledge each other's existence.

Suddenly my mother looks at me and goes on a rant how fucking pissed she is at the lies her colleagues say. She goes on to tell me how her coworkers tell her that looks don't matter and it's more important that you "look friendly and approachable" my mother then said this is "bitchspeak" for looking good and that looks are absolutely everything. If you're ugly, no one is gonna want to approach you or talk to you. Your face is the first thing people will notice.

I then told her a little about genetic determinism and she agreed and we went on ignoring each other

My mom's a lunatic but she has her moments tbh.
