My 20 year old Bangladeshi online friend told me how a man five years older than her who comes from a wealthy family asked for her hand. Her father said no because the other family was very secular liberal compared to their religious ideal. However, what caught into my attention is how easy it's to be a Muslim girl. I literally responded,

”5 years gap isn't even bad. He was rich. I wish, I as a guy, could just be like that: that merely by existing wealthy people offered themselves to me. Women have such a inherent value because of their beauty and an easy life.”
