As a brit myself I can say they taste okay, I haven't had this in a good while. Heinz beans are usually the best though I don't really get the Tesco, or other supermarket brand beans although they are cheaper if you wanna cut costs.

@curryboy420
have you tried this

It looks good, but canned bean sauce just tastes like trash ketchup. Wouldn't recommend.

Those are navy beans. I remember asking a a brit about it and the sauce is tomato based, a little sweet and a little tangy.

You can easily make this yourself with bread, navy beans, tomato sauce, sugar, and vinegar.

Or if you want to go the healthier route, navy beans, tomato sauce, a whole grain bread (preferably homemade) vinegar and erythritol or stevia. Actually I think I'll try this sometime and report back.

It's delicious. Remember to butter the toast and preferably add worcestershire sauce and black pepper on top.

Even better when miniature sausages get involved.

Are you vegan/vegetarian?

Are you vegan/vegetarian?
Almost. I don't eat meat, fish, eggs or dairy.

I take fish oil and collagen peptides though, so not technically vegan. Then again so does Bryan Johnson and he identifies as vegan.

Add HP Sauce and there is no better meal

I am craving a bacon butty absolutely craving one

R u serious? JfL. Imo its one of the most disgustingly looking meals out there

Interesting I only consume dairy. Sometimes I eat pastries with eggs, I did eat eggs everyday for a while last year. Last time I had meat was in 2023. I do have fish oil at home but rarely take it. Why are you consuming such a diet? Are you sure you are getting all the micronutrients you need?

Why are you consuming such a diet?
A lot of reasons. I have a lot of health problems and I'm aging extremely poorly. I have CKD and before getting on atorvastatin and changing my diet, my LDL cholesterol was high. Fasting blood glucose levels were high as well, prediabetic range. I take metformin and acarbose for that. Also I take rapamycin, which also has the side effect of increasing LDL and fasting glucose, so I need both a diet like the one I eat, as well as the aforementioned medications to cancel that out. I also have naturally high levels of TGF beta and mtor, and animal proteins increase these. Both of my parents, as well as all 4 of my grandparents died in their 60s, all from cancer. My body really likes growing tumors. A few years ago I had a (benign) tumor removed that was pretty massive. Considering the size and type of the tumor, even if I had that tumor for 10 years, it grew 5 times the average rate at which that type of tumor should grow. That indicates very high mtor levels, though this isn't something that can be tested with a blood test.

Basically with my genetics and health problems, if I continued to eat a standard american diet, or continued to eat animal products regularly regardless of what type of diet, I wouldn't live another 20 years.

Are you sure you are getting all the micronutrients you need?
Yeah. I eat a whole food, plant based diet that's rich in various polyphenols. I also take a lot of supplements.

Black beans mog.

My autism means I cannot stand most foods
So something basic like beans on toast is one of the few meals I actually can eat
