I wake up early on a hot summer morning in a small Texas town just outside of Dallas. The sun is already blazing in the cloudless sky. I get dressed and head out to the local government office to take care of some paperwork.
As I enter the nondescript brick building, I'm immediately struck by the sight of the employees working there. The office is staffed almost entirely by morbidly obese women of Latina and African American descent. These landwhales are enormous, with bulbous folds of fat spilling out from their too-tight clothing.
Despite the oppressive heat, many wear long sleeve tops and pants in a futile attempt to cover their grotesque bodies. I try to avert my gaze from the revolting sight of these behemoth women as I wait in line, but my eyes are drawn to an even more appalling realization - nearly all of these hidden fatties are accompanied by boyfriends or husbands. The men, similarly ethnic and unattractive, hold their partner's hands affectionately or rub their distended bellies.
