Chinese stats are probably not real
makes sense that near the equator you'd be shorter. Short stout bodies are better suited for that region and way of living (evolutionarily).
in Manchuria and South Korea the average height is around 5'10(178 cm) with it slowly getting smaller towards the south. China is mostly 5'7(170 cm) to 5'8(173 cm) and SEA being 5'4(162 cm) with the exception of Thailand being around 5'6(168 cm).

I doubt the chinese stats a bit. Even in asia you're going to see similar trends to the west though, the average height will steadily climb over the generations. I wonder how much taller the scandinavians and dutch can get though
