Yes, it's likely they were a couple, but:

• He could've said "don't talk to her like that" rather than "don't talk to women like that" - the way he worded it made me consider him a fucking cuck
• Like I wrote earlier, for a Japanese to blow up like that, it means there's more to the story that was not recorded
• I'm biased, alright - I don't like Aussies (and yes I have traveled quite a bit) - I can't stand their excessively laid back attitudes, their stupid jokes & teasing (taking the piss or whatever the fuck it's called), and their fake friendliness

I don't think that's necessarily the case. Japanese people aren't all the same. They do tend to conform though, but there are exceptions and peculiarities among them same as everyone.
