Water but I needed to write this
Until I grew up. I gradually came to understand things. I would say my understanding of these matters still has long way to go, but now I understand why someone might wanna end things. I'm luckier in some regards than many others (obviously not looks) but the discrimination, exclusion, loneliness, disdain, apathy and the passive aggressive way society and many people treat us pushed me to consider it. I came closer to attempting it than I ever thought I would when I was in my teen years. It's crazy how cold the world is for some of us, and I believe it only gets colder from here.
I guess sometimes the damage done to people's psyches, either instantaneous or over time is just too great for them to handle.
I used to believe that hardships make people stronger, and there's truth to that but trauma forever changes people. Especially trauma that people experience in their childhood and formative years, the years when they have the least control and power over their environment.
People like citing outliers and acting as if a poor guy from an abusive household becoming a millionaire is the norm, but the truth is that there's very little free will. Most things were outside of our control.
