There are not just formulas in engineering but models and plans, formulas are for overtly generalised idealised applications, you'd need complex modeling that make use of many such formulas both deduced and derived for real life uses and concepts to set the standard right and to achieve the tight tolerances necessary.

ive found that applying theory is much harder than learning theory
