Sorry matecel. Our dog got run over. And she lost some of her faculties in the last couple of years, it's not fun. I also remember my Uncle's dog was blind. It used to bump into things, as a kid we thought it was funny, but, looking back, it wasn't at all. Because they speedrun life, you have to watch them grow old, suffer and die. At least your dog didn't suffer too long (it sounds like). 10 days isn't long to suffer, in a lifetime. That's probably the best thing to do when they start getting old and sick, just put them to sleep so they don't have to suffer.

Yeah, i said this same. Our second dog suffers for years now.
But then you can cuddle your dog when you get home, which will have her touch all over it, and it will be just like cuddling her.

If you have some basic maturity and sense of responsibility, You won't get "bored" of it. And, on the days you do, a dog can be good for you. It helps you maintain a somewhat normal schedule, as they like to eat and walk at the same time each day. And you have to take it for a walk even when you feel like shit and don't want to leave the house. Cats pretty much take care of themselves.

I didn't think kittens scratched you tbh. I have no experience with cats and am wary of them. When I was a kid, I went up to a random one in the street, trying to stroke it and it scratched the fuck out of my arm. I can probably deal with the scratching, I can't deal with the shit though.
I agree that the sterilisation of male pets is evil. It's not a simple "snip" like for humans, it's literally castration, usually. I'd never do that to an animal. Many people do other fucked up shit like "docking" dogs' tails. Which is literally just chopping off its tail when its born.
ye they scratch the fuck out of you and they're hyper as fuck, 1 minute they chill the minute they're like fuckin sonic dashing around the place, climbing, chewing cables, scratching furniture, scratching you. I've got slashes on my arms, chest, legs. The shit is the worst when its on the carpet as its a bitch to remove stains, I've had to use distilled washing up liquid with paper towels and wet wipes. Its a horrible job to deal with everyday, at least in the litter tray it can be scooped out into a bag with ease then disposed of but the carpet is a nightmare.
