I think that there's a small number of people who might actually be asexual, but the majority of people who claim to be, aren't.

I think asexual just means that you are neither sexually attracted to men nor to women. So you should still be able to jerk off because it feels good (heck, I don't think of anyone or anything sexual half the time, so probably would still jerk off half as much if I were asexual) and as not falling in love is called aromantic, it's something different. But it's still strange. Because I have never heard from e.g. a sexually gay man to desire love relationships with women (or any other combination), so I really wonder how common it is to be asexual but not aromantic. But then, maybe having the "wrong orientation" in different directions would be more difficult than if just some part of the brain doesn't work? So I guess asexual but not aromantic people are possible.
Sure because we can clearly see that certain drugs can cause asexuality as well, for example SSRI's. I don't think its out of any realm of possibility that someone could have such a fucked up hormones that they are practically eunuchs.
