Im not a hoarder but over the past 10 years or so Ive amassed a lot of electronics. Phones/Game Systems/Laptops. They all have personal info on them and/or materials that I wouldnt want people to see.
For all my previous phones can I just reset to factory settings then dump in trash?
What about electronics where I cant operate them anymore due to no charger? For instance lets say a 2005 laptop. Just throw in trash and hope nobody finds it?

Ive just been keeping all these things for so long because I didnt want people stealing my credit card info or something

smash or format the HDD and sell it or throw it in the trash

What exactly would i need to smash and how badly damaged do i need tp smash?
for example an iphone 5 that no longer works but i stupidly had all my passwords in notes. Just until the screen is broken and im good to go?

A big bonfire in the forest will work

I thought that gives off poisoinous fumes? I dont wanna die in a stupid way
(also dont electronics explode?)

If they still work, sell em. Those that don't you throw in the dumpster.

HDD means hard drive a simple drill hole would make it unusable

as for the iphones just throw them in a fire and stand away

Just go to the local dump. They usually have separate containers for electronics.

microwave your HDD. problem solved
