He was a real life hit man in Detroit now doing a life sentence. He charged between $5000 USD to $15000 USD per hit he carried out. He said that the weapons he used was a .40 caliber pistol and an AK47 assault rifle. At first, he only killed drug dealers. He often would be hired by other drug dealers to eliminate the competition or to kill someone who was about to testify in court. He killed 12 people over 7 jobs. He said he started off by robbing drug dealers.
He wageslaved at a heating and cooling company but got injured in a motorcycle accident and couldn't work as much as he used to and his pay was cut. One day someone asked him how much would he want to carry out a murder for hire. He said five grand, thinking it was a joke but the man was serious. He carried out the hit and got more work.
No one suspected him and his neighbors said that they thought he was a nice, quiet family man. He lived with his wife and baby daughter in a quiet subdivision and neighbors said they always saw him walking his dog and he seemed polite.
One day a police officer hired him to kill his wife. He was having an affair with another woman and wanted to leave his wife but was concerned she'd get half of everything in the divorce. He had a $250000 USD life insurance policy on her and promised to pay the hit man $15,000 when the money came in. So the cop and his wife drove to a CVS. He told her to wait in the car while he went inside. When the cop went inside, the hit man smashed the window out with a tire iron and shot her to death with an AK47 and took her purse to make it look like a robbery. Him and the cop had set this all up.
But he said that he usually didn't have remorse for the killings he did but this was different because she wasn't involved in the streets she was just an innocent person. So he said he started to have nightmares about her and it was hard for him to eat and he was very stressed out over it.
One day as he was coming out the house with his daughter, a bunch of police officers swarmed out and arrested him. A drug dealer who knew him had gave him up to get a lighter sentence for himself. After he was arrested, Vincent Smothers just confessed to everything, including the cops wife.
The cop ended up literally roping When he found out that Vincent Smothers had told everything, as he was found hanging from a tree in a park.

Smothers had been paid to kill a pair of brothers, but had only killed one. The hit man waited five months to finish the job.
Smothers said he returned to the same eastside area where he’d killed Adrian Thornton and waited in an abandoned house until Carl Thornton, 29, pulled up. As the victim got out of his car, Smothers gunned him down, and shot his 22-year-old female companion in the buttocks. She survived.
