I don't think you understand what depression is. Clinical depression and sadness are not that same thing. Clinical depression is a mental illness caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. It's much more than just sadness. Sadness is probably the least of a depressed person's concerns.

Wrong. A chemical imbalance is a potential cause of depression, but not the only one. Moreover, unless you have a genetic history of it, those chemical imbalances don't typically just come from nowhere, something has to act as a catalyst to result in decreased levels of serotonin in the brain.

I don't think YOU understand what depression is if you think it's just spontaneous chemical imbalances.
