I feel like it could be a good way to increase SMV, guys I know who talk about shares have foids all over them. Want to get started on a good portfolio but I don't have a massive amount of starting capital and don't know the first thing about choosing profitable companies. Any advice? Is this a cope?

I plan to, if that counts, also plan of venture capitalism. I don't expect to be a billionaire before I'm 30, but if I can make enough passive income to chill out for the rest of my life, I'll be happy.

Yah I'd be keen to make some dividends but with my lack of skill it probably wouldn't ever be enough for income let alone billions haha

yep i invested like 3k in crypto, i just didn't get out in time

cryptoceling is rough

There are plenty of people willing to do it for you, it's just a matter of wagecucking until we can afford their services.

Yeah all that crypto bubble hype turned out to be a real fiasco aye, not that anyone could have known. My dad's colleague made like 800k getting out at the right time though :feelsrope:

Time for a jew financial adviser

I have about 100,000 $ invested, mostly in index funds. Index funds is the way to go and unless you are really skilled you shouldn't really bother with active management tbh. You'll only get cucked if you try.

Wow that's impressive, respect

Balls deep in an ultrashort ETF boyo.

Tried but I am not allowed to. Would have lost my goverment aid.

Asked some friends and family to invest my money under their name. They didn't want to. German non upper class people are paranoid about shares and investing. They rather let their money rot without interest at all lmfao.

I got a trade sim app then. Don't wanna bragg but I made huge bank.

They are asking me now all the time. But I just basically got lucky because some hugely underrated companies in fields I am very knowledgable of went mainstream and their value through the roof. Won't happen again in my lifetime. :(

To said I didn't use my real money. FML.

Making money is my cope. Without that - and hello rope.

I had to google what an ETF is but obviously money is the best cope out there, big kudos. I'm counting down the days until I graduate as well and can seriously get into it.

Fuck that's frustrating for you. The govt aid system sounds pretty dumb, they're basically discouraging economic growth.

Get someone who knows wtf they're doing to help you out. My dad knows his shit when it comes to the market and it's helped me make some decent money on the side. But I really can't downplay the importance of a good mentor. Don't believe shit you read online or in books, hear it from someone you can trust not to BS you.

That's so true. I was keen to find a good mentor but I don't have many people to reach out to. The only person I know who does shares is my friend's dad but we're not close enough friends for it to not be awkward if I approached him, but when I asked my friend he did recommend a couple of businesses to start that look pretty solid, which is to say 'blue chip' stuff without significant growth. I did look online briefly and quickly realised that those companies want to sell you massive subscriptions haha.

I'll keep trying though!

No but I should learn how so I could be rich :)

I was thinking about trying to invest in crypto an use a bot to deal with all the trading but tthen I pussied away lol

Legit look into Inverse ETF's They're a goldmine, I put all my savings into it when the SP500 reached it's ATH and now I am up 10%, which is more than like 50% of hedge funds, lol.

Also, the american economy is on the brink of collapse with the inflated housing prices, cost of living and extreme amounts of money in student loans.
This shit can make you quite a bit of money.

Still up 3x on bitcoin.

so what should i invest in
If you actually want to make money it's good to play it safe with the market and start with more reliable stuff. Don't go for riskier things like crypto until you really know what you're doing cause otherwise you will fuck up and fall for the hype. There's a lot of smart people who make a lot of money off of hype.

Is ETF a good idea?

I was curious about a crypto question, in case anyone is still holding it. I sort of understand that it was overvalued recently with the massive hype so it had to burst, but is it still good in the long run? I probably sound like an idiot but isn't technology supposed to always go up eventually as we would have to use internet finances more? Haha

The general recommendation is to start with index funds which I generally agree with. ETFs are good when you start trading more frequently but I'd stick with index funds until you're more familiar with the market.

The main question right now for crypto is whether or not governments will accept it and right now most governments are either neutral or negative towards crytpo. In the long, long term it might pay off but currently things aren't looking too good. The recent boom was caused mostly by Chinese investors using it to transfer money and the government is starting to clamp down on that stuff so it's unlikely that something similar happens in the future.
