I have ADD and it has pretty much ruined my student life because even though I'm a good student it's really hard for me to concentrate and consequently I have to spend way more time on studying than an average person needs. I still remember one final exam day that I couldnt concentrate whatsoever and even though I studied well I ended up not finishing all the tasks on the time limit.

what are you doing to fight this destructive illness?

Yeah, I suspect to have attention issue.

I had it as kid but got better with age.

The internet turns your attention spam to shit tbh.

Yes, Ive noticed that. Im thinking about cutting my internet connection out for the next year so I can concentrate on my studies.

Why dont you get some pharmaceutical quality, DR perscribed Amphetamines?

I suspect I have it and my life has suffered because of it. I feel to old to bother doing anything about it though.

I'll look into it thanks

Its not hard, just see a doctor, ask to see a psychiatrist and tell him how you cant concentrate on school. If you ever been diagnosed as ADD/ADHD it will be a lot easier. Otherwise it will take time and you may have to see a few different psychiatrists, but eventually you will get what you want.

Thankgod I live in Canada where its all free, even my Ritilan was free. Although I ended up losing weight so I stopped. But I certainly felt a lot better on it. Every morning I would look forward to my coffee and my pill. A beautiful combination of such a pleasant stimulation. Was more happy and productive absolutely.

I was surprised just how strong the effects are, I assumed because it was medical, it would be a mild effect. But it was pretty strong. In a good way. Come to think of it I really miss Ritalin!

from a quick research I saw that with Ritalin you end up worse from what you begun with. Was that the case with you?

Cant say it was better or wose for me. I ended up getting a job after sitting on my ass for over a year. But in the end its no cure and you are only productive on it and yes it has negative side effects. Biggest for me was appetite suppression.

I just stopped and went back to my former self. Lazy, unmotivated and unorganized. I think It actually improved me over all because it got me to develop some organizational and motivational skills. Although they didnt last. I dont think it made me "worse" after stopping though. Not at all. Infact some days I just wouldnt take it and Id just feel back to how I was pre medication. Kind of surprising that flooding the brain with dopamine did not leave me feeling like shit without it. But thats ritilan. The Amphetamines come with more dependence I believe.

The only thing I hated about it was the appitite suppression, but thats stimulants for you.

Not a real mental illness. Humans aren't built to concentrate on boring shit for hours without being bored. ADD isn't even considered a mental illness anymore, it was removed from the mental illness handbook
