I remember when I was a teenager and had outgrown cartoons. But anime still felt fresh, mature and dark with compelling stories that cartoons did not have. When I first watched FMAB I couldn't believe that this kind of thing was possible in an animation.
Now, anime feels the same. I watch it and it feels like I'm watching a silly cartoons. Emotional scenes don't hit like they used to and it all feels corny and immature. Maybe having actual life experiences has made me outgrow anime too.
